CAP Holiday Collection


My Role: Illustrator & Merchandise Designer

ABOUT

The CAP market for Starbucks enjoys artful, youthful, and colorful products. At the time, woodland animals, angular geometrics and heritage patterns, such as plaid and houndstooth, were on trend.

I had the opportunity to design the holiday merchandise collection of 20+ products for Starbucks China/Asia/Pacific (CAP). I was responsible for the trend research, collection concept, color palette, artwork and product design.

For each product, I determined the material and finish to use for each body based on sales data, price point targets and manufacturing capabilities. I also designed new products like shaped stir sticks, a ceramic tray, and charms added to drinkware. Leveraging 8 artworks, I created a cohesive product collection with a lot of variety, giving customers reason to not just buy one.

About the Collection

Stars twinkle, snowflakes glisten and the moonlit night begins the holiday festivities. Deep in the forest, friends gather in merry celebration, toasting the season with delicious cups of cheer. Deer, fox, rabbits and swans gather nearby are invited to join in the fun. Traditional patterns of houndstooth, cozy plaids and a poinsettia damask ground this enchanted forest.

This collection captures the magic of the season with a whimsical yet sophisticated collection all dressed up in rich jewel tones, gradients, and opulent metallics.
